Where Good Neighbors and Good Servicemen Meet

The Kool Konnection

(Contractor Version)

Kool Kontractor Advertising

No one is perfect, but those who try to do the right thing should be recognized. Word of Mouth Pages invites good contractors and good customers to identify themselves. We call them Kool Kontractors and Kool Kustomers … or just Kontractors and Kustomers.

Other communities have report-driven service directories that try to identify bad contractors. In contrast, we want to locate the good guys. Furthermore we believe a good serviceman deserves a good customer.

Kustomers are encouraged to leave post-repair feedback. Positive feedback will be posted immediately on the website. Negative feedback will be reviewed first. (Part of my job is screening to ensure responsible feedback.)

Feedback can be read by any registered Word of Mouth Pages participant. Good feedback will send new kustomers to the good repairman.

The comparison between the good and the bad—the kool and the unkool—is given below.

The Kool Kontractor And The Unkool

The Kool Kontractor
  • Is dependable.
  • Does good work.
  • Gives sound advice.
  • Charges a reasonable price.
  • Stands behind his work.
  • Looks out for your interests.
  • Tells the truth.
  • Does not use Flat Rate Pricing.
The Unkool Contractor
  • Responds when he wants to.
  • Does mediocre work.
  • Gives unsound advice.
  • Charges what he can get away with.
  • Does not stand behind his work.
  • Looks out for his own interests.
  • Will sometimes lie.
  • Does not trust his customer.

The Kool Kustomer And The Unkool

The Kool Kustomer
  • Appreciates a good job.
  • Is willing to pay a fair price.
  • Is flexible in scheduling.
  • Keeps his pets out of the way.
  • Is honest with the repairman.
  • Pays on time.
  • Is a loyal customer.
The Unkool Customer
  • Is satisfied with a mediocre job.
  • Is not willing to pay a fair price.
  • Is inflexible in scheduling.
  • Lets his pets harass the repairman.
  • May lie to the repairman.
  • Doesn't trust the repairman.
  • Doesn't pay on time.

The Ideal Repair Job Requires Competence and Trust

  • The Kustomer trusts the repairman.
  • The repairman trusts the Kustomer.

The Kool Konnection is the meeting place.

The Registered Contractor

Contractor registration also gives all the privileges of a Kool Kustomer. It's not necessary to register twice. This is a fabulous resource for everyone who appreciates quality workmanship.

Three Levels of Contractor Participation

Level 1—In order to provide a complete directory, we listed about 2,300 contractors at the entry level (free listing). Still, their participation is limited. Unregistered contractors are encouraged to register, and there's no charge.

Level 2—Once registered, the entry level contractor can make changes to his listing, and add extra categories. He will be notified when feedback has been left on one of his jobs, and he can post his response on the website—still no charge. The registered Contractor will receive periodic email notices reminding him to check his listing, and make necessary updates.

Level 3—If you qualify as a Kool Kontractor, you can declare your "koolness" by moving to a higher advertising level (paid listing). A Link is given below.

Summary Statement

Kool Kustomers and Kool Kontractors identify themselves. Good repairs will generate good reports. Some who have claimed kool status will turn out to be unkool, and fall by the wayside.

Contractor Registration (Free)

All contractors, even those who are already listed in the lower level, are encouraged to register. Registration allows us to keep accurate up-to-date listings for each advertiser: Contractor Registration.
